Dr. Piyush Gupta has 30 years of experience in ICT and management in government and private sector and as an entrepreneur. Since 2004 he is with the National Institute for Smart Government, NISG. NISG has been established by Government of India, AP state government and NASSCOM Dr Piyush presently heads Capacity Building & Knowledge Management as Associate Vice President.
Dr Piyush has been instrumental in strategizing various capacity building initiatives under the National e-Governance Plan along with the Department of Electronics and IT, Government of India. He architected e-Governance Leadership workshops for political leaders across the country. He is the architect of a full time one year e-Governance course, started in collaboration with management institutes like IIM-Indore and TAPMI Manipal. Some of the other flagship initiatives Dr Piyush is leading include e-Governance CIO and other professional e-Governance training for policy and implementation level senior Government officials. He contributed in developing a framework for the e-Governance and Capacity Building Roadmap, used for developing e-Governance roadmaps for all the States in India. He is involved in various e-Governance projects across the central and state government to address change management and program management. Presently, he is working on implementing blended learning platforms for government and educational institutions. In his earlier assignments he led the IT teams for ERP implementation, software development and intranet solutions.

Dr Piyush is a speaker at National/International conferences and national training institutions, has number of published papers to his credit and edited five books on e-Governance case studies. He completed his doctorate under faculty of management studies and his research topic was “Empirical Study of the Performance and Issues in G2C Projects in Indian Scenario”.
Dr. Piyush is a Certified Training Need Analysis expert and his key areas of competencies include Strategy planning to address Capacity Building, Institutional partnerships and collaborations, change management methodology and processes, Training content and design, e-Government project assessment and program Management.
